Notably, the Amarnath Yatra follows the traditional Hindu calendar, and Shravan Purnima (Rakshabandhan) is the last day of the pilgrimage. 

How to Register for Amarnath Yatra 2025? 

Notably, it is mandatory for all pilgrims wanting to visit to get their Amarnath Yatra 2025 registration done. 

Here are some important factors regarding the registration. 

  • Amarnath Yatra 2025 registration is already underway, and it began on April 14, 2025. 
  • Offline registration for Amarnath Yatra 2025 can be done at 450+ designated bank branches across India. Pilgrims need to visit the designated branches with a fully-filled registration form, CHC (Compulsory Health Certificate), and a valid ID proof. Before issuing the Yatra Permit, the bank will verify all the details.  
  • Another way to register for the Amarnath Yatra 2025 offline is through the designated centers. In this way, pilgrims need to obtain a token from either Mahajan Hall, Panchayat Bhawan, or Vaishnavi Dham, three days before the Yatra date. The next day, pilgrims must visit the Saraswati Dham for the official registration and medical checkup.
  • To complete the registration process, pilgrims can collect their RFID card from a designated center in Jammu. 

Amarnath Yatra Online Registration 2025

  • To register online, you can visit the SASB official website and click on ‘Online Services’. 
  • Choose ‘Yatra Permit Registration’ from the dropdown menu. 
  • Fill in the personal details like name, Aadhaar number, preferred data of Yatra, and mobile number. 
  • Upload a passport-sized photograph and a scanned copy of your CHC (Compulsory Health Certificate). 
  • Verify your mobile number using the one-time password that is sent to your registered mobile number. 
  • You will receive a payment link, which you can click on to pay the registration fees, which will be somewhere around ₹220. 
  • Once the payment is complete, you can download your Yatra Permit directly from the portal. 

Notably, pilgrims will not get the Yatra Permit without a valid CHC (Compulsory Health Certificate). 

Amarnath Yatra Routes in 2025 

There are two major routes from which one can choose: 

Baltal Route 

  • Base Camp: Baltal 
  • Distance: 14 km (one-way)
  • Duration of Journey: 1-2 days 
  • Terrain Details: Steep and physically demanding
  • Suited For: Pilgrims with good physical fitness and limited time on their hands. 

Pahalgam Route

  • Base Camp: Pahalgam
  • Distance: 36-48 km one way (varies based on stopovers)

How to Reach the Base Camp of Amarnath Yatra? 

To commence their Yatra, pilgrims first have to reach Jammu or Srinagar before heading out to either Pahalgam or Baltal. 

By Air: 

  • Srinagar Airport is the nearest. 
  • Once you reach Srinagar, Baltal is 100km by road, while Pahalgam is 90 km. 

By Train:  

  • Jammu Tawi (JAT) is the nearest railway station. 
  • Once you reach Jammu, you can hail a taxi or take a bus to either Pahalgam (280 km) or Baltal (400 km). 

By Road: 

  • For the road trip, Jammu and Kashmir is well connected via the NH44. 
  • From there, buses or private taxis can take you to the base camp. 

Are there Helicopter Services for the Amarnath Yatra? 

For safety reasons, all routes to the Amarnath Cave Shrine have been declared a ‘No Flying Zone’ between July 1 and August 10. 

This ban applies to both the Baltal route and the Pahalgam route. Hence, Helicopter services will not be available for the Yatra 2025. 

What to Pack for the Amarnath Yatra?
